Fireworks Styles
Using Fireworks Styles Effectively
When creating detailed objects in Fireworks, you may sometimes waste time repeating the same actions of applying effects that could otherwise be saved as Styles.
Step 1
Create a basic shape, and apply some effects to it.
Step 2
Click the Styles tab ( Window > Styles ), and while your object is still selected, click New Style.

This window will appear:

Here, you can choose what properties of the selected object you'd like to enter into the style. Leave the selected options as they are, enter a style name, and click Ok.
Step 3
Create a new shape.
Step 4
While the shape is selected, click the style you've created. All of its effects, fill properties, and stroke properties will apply to the new shape.
Step 5
Another use of styles is to only save a certain aspect of the selected object. Create a new object, and apply a shadow effect to it.
Step 6
Create a new style again:

This time, only check the Effect option, and leave the others black.

When you apply this style to future shapes, it will only add the shadow effect to them, and leave their current fill and stroke properties as they are.
