Property Description:

This property is the shorthand version of the specific border-top-style, border-right-style, border-bottom-style, and border-left-style properties. Style values are separated by spaces, and represent the styles of the element's borders in a clockwise fashion -- Top, Right, Bottom, Left. If only one value is entered, it is applied to all sides. If one or more values are missing, the value for a missing side is copied from its opposite side (top-bottom, left-right).

  • none-No border.
  • dotted-A series of dots.
  • dashed-A series of dashes.
  • solid- A single solid line.
  • double-Two parallel solid lines.
  • groove-Appears as the opposite of ridge. Displayed as a carved groove. Different browsers render this border differently.
  • ridge-Appears as the opposite of groove. Displayed as a raised ridge. Different browsers render this border differently.
  • inset-Appears as the opposite of outset. Displayed an inner bevel. Different browsers render this border differently.
  • outset-Appears as the opposite of inset. Displayed an outter bevel. Different browsers render this border differently.
