Property Description:

Specifies the "inside" area of an absolutely positioned block element. The position property is directly related to this property. The area is defined by a shape value, which, in this version of CSS, only accepts a "rect" (rectangle) definition. It is similar to shorthand syntax, in that you specify rect(top right bottom right) as the value. Each side value offsets the rectangle's "inner" area from that side. For example, a value of clip: rect(10px 0 0 0) will make the top 10 pixels of a block invisible, unless the overflow property of that element is set to visible.


Example:

.example_a { position: absolute; width: 100px; height: 50px; clip: rect(5px, 5px, 5px, 5px); } .example_b { overflow: scroll; clear: left; }
